The Annual Meeting of the International Society for Stem Cell Research is the largest international interdisciplinary forum dedicated to stem cell science. This year, the 11th Annual Meeting will be held June 12 - 15, 2013, in Boston, MA, USA. The meeting brings together more than 3,500 of the world’s stem cell researchers each year to discuss emerging science in this fast-paced field. Registration: The ISSCR asks that you pre-register if you are planning to attend the meeting and/or participate in any press conferences via conference call at the ISSCR 11th Annual Meeting in Boston. Please read the eligibility requirements and press policies below. To register, download and submit the Press Registration Form. Pick up your press badge at the press registration desk at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC).
Media Registration Eligibility Requirements
Journalists who are employed by accredited news organizations attending the meeting for the purpose of editorial coverage will be granted complimentary press credentials. To qualify, journalists are asked to pre-register by submitting the Press Registration Form and must present media identification (such as an international accredited press pass or a business card issued by a recognized news organization) with their registration and at the press registration desk at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC).
Freelance journalists must submit an official letter of assignment from an accredited news organization for online registration. Freelancers must pre-register using the Press Registration Form and will be notified once credentials are confirmed.
Companies or organizations producing publications, videos and/or other electronic media intended for marketing, advertising, financial analysis or public relations purposes may not register as press. Financial analysts and public relations personnel will not be granted press access.
Annual Meeting Embargo Policy
Press is required to abide by the embargo policies governing the ISSCR Annual Meeting. The ISSCR embargo policy states that coverage of abstracts and poster presentations being presented at the annual meeting is strictly prohibited until the start of each individual presentation. This includes blogging, tweeting, and other intent to communicate or disseminate results or discussion presented at the ISSCR Annual Meeting. Content that may be pre-published online in advance of print publication is also subject to the ISSCR embargo policy.
Onsite Guidelines
Registered press are required to wear ISSCR press badges at all times while onsite at the ISSCR Annual Meeting. All scientific sessions, education sessions, oral and poster abstract sessions and the exhibit and poster hall at the annual meeting are open to the media.
Still photography, video and/or audio taping of the sessions, presentations or posters at the ISSCR Annual Meeting is strictly prohibited. (The ISSCR reserves the right to engage professional photographers or audio/videotape professionals to archive sections of the meeting for the Society’s use.)
Press Room and Press Conference Policies
Press credentials are required for entry to the press room. Company and public relations representatives are not permitted in the press room. All public relations and corporate representatives are expected to be respectful of reporters' needs and deadlines.
The press room may be reserved by registered media through the press office staff. Registered press who require a room for an extended period of time to conduct interviews may reserve a conference room onsite. Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis through sign-up sheets outside the rooms. Special requests related to press facilities above and beyond what is provided by the ISSCR must be made in writing no less than three weeks prior to the annual meeting, and must be approved by the ISSCR.

The ISSCR annual meeting is a venue for delegates to come together and share ideas with each other in a relaxed setting. While we wish to accommodate members of the press, we are committed to preserving this valued opportunity, which our attendees report is the source of invaluable collaborations. We ask all members of the press to respect our mission, the meeting attendees’ time and the freedom we allow our delegates to discuss their work in a protected and informal environment.
