2009 Award RecipientsInaugural ISSCR Outstanding Young Investigator Award The ISSCR announced the recipient of the first Outstanding Young Investigator Award during Plenary Session II on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 8, 2009. Supported by the University of Pittsburgh, this award recognizes the exceptional achievements of an investigator in the early part of his or her independent career in stem cell research. Konrad Hochedlinger, PhD, (Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA USA) was presented with the inaugural Outstanding Young Investigator Award at the ISSCR 7th Annual Meeting in Barcelona, Spain, July 8, 2009. Supported by the University of Pittsburgh, this award recognizes the exceptional achievements of an investigator in the early part of his or her independent career in stem cell research. 2009 Educational Video Contest The Gladstone Institute of Cardiovascular Disease has been selected as the winner of the 2009 ISSCR Educational Video Competition. The winner was selected based on its originality and quality. The video will be featured in the Public Education section of the ISSCR Web site.
