International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) Hosts Free Public Symposium Expert Researchers Discuss the Current State of Stem Cell Science

Northbrook, IL – What do we really know about stem cells? Find out as four expert researchers discuss the current state of the science and answer questions from the public during a free public symposium Wednesday, June 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the MaRS Auditorium, 101 College St., Toronto, Canada.

Hear firsthand about the latest stem cell research and its affect on the future of medicine at this informative event presented by the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) in conjunction with the 4 th ISSCR Annual Meeting.

Join panelists:

Peter Andrews , co-director, Centre for Stem Cell Biology at the University of Sheffield (UK) and coordinator of the International Stem Cell Initiative;

Tim Caulfield , Research Director, Health Law Institute at the University of Alberta (CAN) and theme leader in the Stem Cell Network for the National Centres of Excellence;

Janet Rossant , Chief of Research at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto (CAN) and Deputy Director of the Canadian Stem Cell Network;

James Till , Senior Scientist Emeritus, Ontario Cancer Institute, University Health Network at the University of Toronto (CAN), member of the Board Ethics Committee for the Stem Cell Network and co-recipient of the 2005 Lasker Award;

The International Society for Stem Cell Research is an independent, nonprofit organization established in 2002 to promote and foster the exchange and dissemination of information and ideas relating to stem cells, to encourage the general field of research involving stem cells and to promote professional and public education in all areas of stem cell research and application.
