The ISSCR is committed to offering an accessible meeting environment where barriers of any type do not exclude people from attending and participating.

Nursing Pod

Mamava pod is an enclosed, private space for new mothers attending the ISSCR 2020 Annual Meeting at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. The pod is a secure space with roomy benches, space for a stroller, and a place to plug in your pump. There is one located at Level 1 Southeast of the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, adjacent to the restroom. Download the app and schedule an appointment for when you are at the ISSCR 2020 Annual Meeting.

Family/Gender Neutral Restrooms

The Boston Convention and Exhibition Center has designated Family/Gender Neutral restroom facilities. These restroom facilities will be marked and are available for use by all persons, regardless of their gender identity. Please refer to the ISSCR 2020 Annual Meeting Program Guide or the Mobile App for locations.

Visual Impairment

Use of Personal Assistant: Should you require an aide or personal assistant to navigate the Annual Meeting, ISSCR will register your aide as a complimentary guest. Please contact isscr@isscr.org to register your personal aide. Personal aides may attend sessions and access the exhibit hall.

Mobility Constraints

Due to the size of the ISSCR Annual Meeting, sessions are sometimes spread out and distances between sessions can be considerable. If you are a regular wheelchair-user you should bring your chair with you.

Should you require an aide or personal assistant to navigate the Annual Meeting, ISSCR will register your aide as a complimentary guest. Please contact isscr@isscr.org to register your personal aide. Personal aides may attend sessions and access the exhibit hall.

Wheelchair Rentals

If you need a wheelchair while onsite at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, please go to Guest Services of the convention center, located in the North Lobby by the entrance. There is a limited number of wheelchairs available. They will be at a first come, first serve basis.

Scooters are available for rent through Scootaround. Call +1-201-982-0657, email info@scootaround.com, or go online. The cost for any scooter rentals will be billed directly to the attendee.

Assistive Listening Devices

A limited number of assistive listening devices will be available. There is no charge for the use of these devices, available on a first-come, first-served basis. This technology generally involves the installation of “transmitters” in the session you wish to attend. Sound is transmitted to headphones provided to the attendees. Arrangements can be made onsite, but keep in mind that a 3-week advance notice is required in order to provide technicians with sufficient time to install the devices.

Food Allergies

ISSCR is diligent about handling food allergies for all ISSCR events. Onsite, all food is labeled by the facility to provide attendees with potential allergens. Approximately three (3) weeks before the meeting, ISSCR will email all those who registered for events in which food will be provided to determine/confirm any food allergies. Please email ekowalczyk@isscr.org for more information or to ask specific questions regarding needs required for your allergy.
