The ISSCR is pleased to offer recognition for ISSCR Trainee Members with outstanding abstracts with Travel Awards, Merit Abstract Awards, and Outstanding Poster Presentation Awards. 

To be eligible for Travel, Merit, and Poster Awards, you must:

Be a trainee with an active ISSCR membership as of 16 February 2022

Submit an abstract through the online abstract submission process. Only abstracts submitted by 23:59 EST on 16 February (extended from 9 February) will be considered. Late-Breaking abstracts are not eligible. Consult the Call for Abstracts page for detailed submission information.

When submitting your abstract, you must indicate if you wish to be considered for an ISSCR Travel Award. 

All ISSCR Trainee Members who submit abstracts before 23:59 EST on 16 February (extended from 9 February) will be considered for Merit Abstract and Poster Presentation Awards.

ISSCR Travel Awards

ISSCR Zhongmei Chen Young Awards for Scientific Excellence (ISSCR Travel Awards) are meant to help defray the cost of attending the ISSCR Annual Meeting. Recipients are selected based on the quality of the abstract submission with consideration given to geographic representation. Funding for these awards is provided by Chen Young, chairman of the Zhongmei Group.

New for 2022: All travel awardees will receive complimentary meeting registration. Only in-person attendees will be awarded funds for travel. Funds will be dispersed after the meeting after onsite attendance is confirmed. When submitting an abstract, applicants must indicate if they intend to attend the meeting in person or virtually. 

Application:  Applicants indicate interest during the online abstract submission process. Only trainees with active ISSCR memberships as of the deadline are eligible for consideration. Late-Breaking Abstracts are not eligible for consideration. The ISSCR is not able to accommodate the majority of requests for Travel Awards. We highly recommend applicants begin early to identify other sources of funds to attend the ISSCR Annual Meeting.

Notification: Applicants will be notified by 25 March 2022 of award status.

Acceptance and registration deadlines: Recipients must accept the award and complete registration by 13 April 2022. Please visit the Call for Abstracts page for more information on abstract deadlines.

Distribution: Recipients will be awarded complimentary meeting registration. In-person awardees will receive travel funds after the meeting when onsite attendance is confirmed.

Recognition: Awardees are recognized during the meeting, in the Program Book PDF, and on the ISSCR website. An award certificate will be sent to each recipient following the meeting.
