The ISSCR extends its thanks and appreciation for all speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, poster presenters, and attendees for making ISSCR 2020 Virtual a rousing success! One of the many special features of the virtual event platform this year was the ability to host a friendly competition to earn points toward badges – and to win registration to ISSCR 2021 23-26 June in Hamburg, Germany. What do you do when there is a four-way tie for second place? You award four registrations of course!
Congratulations to all of our winners!

Here is what some of the winner shared about the meeting:
“I thoroughly enjoyed the ISSCR 2020 Virtual Meeting. The quality of the talks was outstanding, and the chat function and scientific forums allowed for great communication and that sense of community. What an incredible success. Thank you ISSCR! I look forward to seeing you in Hamburg next year.” – Christina Philippeos, King’s College London. London, United Kingdom
“This year, ISSCR has been incredibly efficient. I was able to engage with almost all sessions including the ones that I do not have expertise in. During the poster sessions, I could visit posters that I was interested in and able to see the questions asked before. Top-quality data including highly efficient in vivo liver editing and engraftable hematopoietic stem cells from iPSCs have been presented. The best part of the conference was the On-Demand option. Without running from one room to another, I watched and am still watching all sessions that I wanted to see. I hope the ISSCR committee would keep some positive approaches from this year. Looking forward to ISSCR 2021 in Hamburg, Germany!” – Selami Demirci, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, USA
“I really liked the virtual meeting. Was a very unique and wonderful experience. The best part of this format is that I can revisit the talks or even watch those few that I missed! – Cèsar Melendez, Instituto de Fisologio Cellular UNAM, Mexico City, Mexico
“ISSCR 2020 Virtual is the first conference I've attended, and I'm thankful to have been able to participate virtually and listen to various presentations on current stem cell research. I'm fortunate that I was able to dedicate those days to watching live presentations, so the conference experience of adjusting to another time zone was still there when I would wake up before sunrise to catch the first presentations of the day. I really enjoyed the organoid and hematopoietic talks and I now have a list of scientists whose research I plan to keep up with. Overall, ISSCR 2020 Virtual was a great experience and I want to thank everyone who helped make the transition to a virtual setting possible for all of us in attendance. I am looking forward to ISSCR 2021! – Naycari De Luna, Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine, Vista, USA
