Abstract Submission Is Open
The ISSCR Annual Meeting is always a highlight of our year, where we come together to exchange new ideas, connect with friends and colleagues, and reinvigorate ourselves and our research as we learn about important advances in the field of stem cell science and regenerative medicine. After careful consideration for the health and safety of our community, we have decided to host the ISSCR 2021 Annual Meeting virtually from 21 June to 26 June.
It has been an incredible year for science marked by exciting stem cell advances and remarkable achievements from scientists contributing to the challenges raised by the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, we will build on the tremendous success of ISSCR 2020 Virtual to bring our community an exceptionally compelling and engaging program.
ISSCR 2021 Virtual's scientific program will start on Monday, 21 June with the Presidential Symposium “What’s in a germ layer?” when these outstanding speakers: Elaine Fuchs, Meritxell Huch, Charles Murry, and Lorenz Studer will explore the foundations of human biology and regenerative medicine. Each of the following days will focus on one of the meeting’s five core themes: Tissue Stem Cells and Regeneration, Modeling Development and Disease, New Technologies, Cellular Identity, and Clinical Applications. These themes create a home for researchers focused on the specialized area of stem cell research and foster greater interaction and learning within that community. Plenary sessions will be followed by provocative panel discussions on topics such as human gastruloids, translation of organoid models, in vivo gene editing, and engineered tissue therapies. The final plenary on 26 June will celebrate the developing breakthroughs in translational research and therapies, capped by the final Keynote address from Nobel Laureate Shinya Yamanaka.
Lastly, we are pleased to announce that abstract submissions are open! We encourage you to submit your latest work to ISSCR 2021 Virtual, with the opportunity to present via our new interactive poster presentation format. In the meantime, stay tuned for more information on ISSCR 2021 Virtual!
