The World’s Most Groundbreaking Stem Cell Advances Are Coming to San Francisco for ISSCR 2027

The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) today announced that the ISSCR 2027 Annual Meeting is coming back to San Francisco, USA, 15-18 June 2027. Recognized as the premier international forum for stem cell science, the gathering will recognize 25 years of discovery, collaboration, and progress in stem cell science and gather the people, ideas, and work that will shape the next quarter century.

“ISSCR 2027 will be where transformative stem cell science converges,” said Lorenz Studer, who will serve as ISSCR President during the meeting. “From breakthroughs in development and regeneration to advances in AI, bioengineering and cell therapies, the meeting will bring together the people and ideas shaping the future of medicine while already impacting patient lives today. It is also where students and early-career scientists build collaborations, connect with mentors, and become immersed in the global stem cell community.”

Chaired by Viviane Tabar and Matthias P. Lutolf, ISSCR 2027 will convene scientific pioneers, rising investigators, industry leaders, and the next generation of researchers advancing the field. The meeting will emphasize scientific exchange and career development through networking events, poster sessions, mentoring opportunities, and interactions with leaders across academia, biotechnology, and industry. At a moment when progress in the field is increasingly shaped by ideas and tools that move across traditional boundaries, ISSCR 2027 will deliver novel research and compelling conversations that are driving the future.

‍In addition to the scientific program, the meeting’s exhibition and innovation showcases will feature the latest technologies and platforms driving discovery, including advances in AI-enabled research, automation, manufacturing, imaging, computational biology, and stem cell-based model systems.

“The 2027 annual meeting will highlight the extraordinary pace of progress across stem cell science while creating opportunities for collaboration across disciplines, sectors, and generations of scientists, particularly for trainees and early-career researchers through speaking opportunities and travel awards,” said ISSCR Chief Executive Officer Keith Alm.
