The ISSCR to Celebrate 20th Anniversary of iPSC Discovery in Kyoto, Japan
International Symposium Chaired by Nobel Laureate Shinya Yamanaka to be Held in October 2026
World-renowned stem cell scientists will gather in Kyoto, Japan for the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) International Symposium, 20 Years of iPSC Discovery: A Celebration and Vision for the Future. Professor Shinya Yamanaka, who earned the 2012 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his breakthrough iPSC discovery, is leading the scientific program for the historic event.
The ISSCR Announces New Lawrence Goldstein Science Policy Fellows
The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) has appointed three new Goldstein Science Policy Fellows, Lizhong Liu, Ph.D., Westlake University, China, Kate MacDuffie, Ph.D., Seattle Children’s Research Institute, U.S.A., and Mubeen Goolam, Ph.D., University of Cape Town, South Africa. The fellows each have extensive interest in science policy and regulatory issues affecting stem cell science and will serve for three years beginning in June 2025.
Call for Applications: Stem Cell Reports Early Career Scientist Editorial Board
Stem Cell Reports, the peer-reviewed, open access, online journal of the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR), is seeking highly motivated and accomplished early career scientists to join the Early Career Scientist Editorial Board (ECEB). Applications are due 15 March 2025.

Stem Cell Reports has celebrated more than 10 years of publishing impactful science and influential commentaries that shape the stem cell field. For this month’s message we hear from the new editor-in-chief Janet Rossant as she takes on the leadership of our Society publication. Janet Rossant Takes the Helm at ISSCR’s Stem Cell Reports as Editor-in-Chief
World-renowned developmental biologist Janet Rossant begins as the new editor-in-chief of Stem Cell Reports, the journal of the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR). She takes over the position held by Martin Pera, The Jackson Laboratory, USA, for nearly six years.
