ISSCR 2027 Annual Meeting Opens Registration and Abstract Submissions

The field’s premier convening returns to San Francisco, 15-18 June 2027, spanning breakthroughs in basic biology, advances in disease modeling and drug discovery, and new clinical data on cell-based therapies, with AI advancing work across all three.

The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) has opened registration and abstract submissions for the ISSCR 2027 Annual Meeting, taking place 15-18 June 2027 at Moscone West in San Francisco, California, USA. Marking the 25th anniversary of the ISSCR Annual Meeting, this hallmark event will bring together the global stem cell community to share groundbreaking discoveries, explore transformative technologies, and advance the future of stem cell science and regenerative medicine.

As artificial intelligence, computational biology, and increasingly sophisticated stem cell-based models reshape the research landscape, ISSCR 2027 will showcase advances spanning fundamental discoveries in human development and disease, engineering biology, and emerging cell and gene therapies. ISSCR President Lorenz Studer, M.D., founding director of the Center for Stem Cell Biology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, USA, will president over the ISSCR Annual Meeting. The scientific program, led by Program Committee Co-Chairs Viviane Tabar, M.D., Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, USA, and Matthias P. Lutolf, Ph.D., École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, will feature pioneering research, emerging discoveries selected from submitted abstracts, interactive poster sessions, and opportunities for collaboration across academia, industry, and clinical research.

Complementing the scientific program, the Exhibit and Poster Hall will highlight innovations in laboratory automation, advanced imaging, computational technologies, and cell manufacturing, connecting researchers with the tools, expertise, and partnerships driving the next generation of scientific discovery and clinical advances.

Abstract Submissions and Opportunities to Participate
The ISSCR invites researchers at all career stages to contribute their latest discoveries and participate in global scientific exchange. Opportunities include:

  • Submit an Abstract: Deadline 27 January 2027. Share new research through oral or poster presentations at the world's leading stem cell research meeting. Travel awards are available to ISSCR student and postdoctoral members who submit abstracts.

  • Become an ISSCR 2027 Ambassador: Deadline 23 October 2026. Early career investigators are invited to apply to represent and engage the global stem cell research community as ISSCR 2027 Ambassadors.

  • Submit a Science Spotlight Proposal: Deadline 27 January 2027. Student and postdoctoral members can help shape the scientific conversation by proposing sessions highlighting emerging research areas, innovative approaches, and new developments not already featured in the program.

  • Apply for a Child and Dependent Care Grant: Deadline 10 March 2027. Eligible ISSCR members can apply for grants to help offset care costs associated with attending the meeting in person. Awards are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Organize a Meet-Up Hub: Deadline 19 April 2027. Connect researchers with shared scientific interests through informal gatherings in the Exhibit and Poster Hall.

  • Participate in One-on-One Partnering. Schedule face-to-face meetings with researchers, industry representatives, and potential collaborators to explore scientific partnerships, investments, licensing opportunities, and new ventures.

Join the Global Stem Cell Community in San Francisco
For 25 years, the ISSCR Annual Meeting has brought together the people and ideas driving progress in stem cell science. ISSCR 2027 will celebrate that legacy while looking ahead to the discoveries, technologies, and collaborations defining the future of the field and human health.

Registration and abstract submissions are now open at isscr2027.org.
