Stem Cell Reports Seeks Associate Editor to Support Journal’s Growing Global Impact

The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) is seeking applications for an Associate Editor for its official journal, Stem Cell Reports, an online, open-access journal communicating basic discoveries in stem cell research, in addition to translational and clinical studies.

New articles are published online weekly and collated into a virtual issue monthly. Stem Cell Reports publishes original research with conceptual or practical advances of broad interest to stem cell biologists and clinicians.

The journal receives manuscripts spanning the full breadth of stem cell and related biomedical research. As such, applicants for the Associate Editor role should have broad expertise across the field – from fundamental discovery science through clinical translation. Candidates should also demonstrate a strong international reputation in somatic or tissue stem cell research.

Priority will be given to applicants with expertise in hematopoietic, lung, or musculoskeletal systems and a background in translational research. Expertise in areas including the nervous system, liver regeneration, or bioengineering will also be considered.

Associate Editors play a central role in maintaining the scientific rigor and relevance of Stem Cell Reports. Key responsibilities include overseeing the peer-review process, representing the journal within the scientific community, and contributing to strategic discussions about the journal’s development.

Associate Editors serve an initial three-year term, with the option for renewal for an additional three years by mutual agreement. The role includes an editorial stipend provided as an annual or semiannual payment. Stem Cell Reports is published by Cell Press.

Interested candidates should send a letter of interest and CV to Jack Mosher at jmosher@isscr.org by 10 April 2026.
