Stem Cell Reports Welcomes Dominique Bonnet and Frederic Relaix as Associate Editors
Leading researchers bring expertise in hematopoietic and muscle stem cells to the ISSCR’s open access peer-reviewed journal
The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) announces the appointment of Dominique Bonnet, Ph.D., and Frederic Relaix, Ph.D., as Associate Editors of Stem Cell Reports, the official journal of the ISSCR.
Drs. Bonnet and Relaix bring internationally recognized expertise spanning hematopoietic and muscle stem cell biology, development, regeneration, disease modeling, and translational research. Their appointments further strengthen the journal’s editorial expertise across fundamental and disease-focused stem cell research.

Dominique Bonnet, Ph.D., is a group leader at the Francis Crick Institute and Professor in the Division of Biosciences at University College London, UK. She also is an honorary professor at Imperial College London and King’s College London and was elected a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences in 2023.
Dr. Bonnet’s research focuses on the molecular and cellular programs regulating normal human hematopoietic stem cells and how oncogenic mutations disrupt these programs to drive myeloid malignancies. Her work has advanced understanding of how malignant stem cells interact with and remodel the bone marrow microenvironment and how the niche influences disease evolution. More recently, her group has developed humanized bone marrow niche models to investigate interactions between normal and leukemic human hematopoietic stem cells and their microenvironment.
Frederic Relaix, Ph.D., is Full Professor and Vice-Dean for Research of the Faculty of Medicine and Health at Université Paris-Est Créteil, France where he directs the Muscle Stem Cells and Therapies Team and the Muscle Development, Repair & Therapies Group. He also is head of the AFM-Telethon strategic pole Translamuscle.
Dr. Relaix’s research focuses on the mechanisms that regulate skeletal muscle stem cells across development, regeneration, aging, and disease. His multidisciplinary program integrates stem cell and developmental biology, genetics, genomics, epigenetics, and preclinical modeling to understand how these cells maintain and repair muscle and how their function is altered by disease. His work also advances the study of neuromuscular disorders, including Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophies, through the development of disease models and the investigation of potential therapeutic strategies.
