The ISSCR Introduces CDMO Directory, a Screening Tool to Support Researchers Advancing Toward Clinical Translation
The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) is developing a new CDMO Directory, a web-based resource designed to help Society members identify contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs) with capabilities relevant to their research and clinical translation needs.
Led by the ISSCR Manufacturing, Clinical Translation, and Regulatory (MCTR) Committee, the directory is intended to help bridge the gap between researchers and manufacturers by consolidating key information about participating CDMOs in one centralized resource. The directory will be available to the ISSCR’s nearly 5,000 members across the world starting on 19 October.
CDMOs may participate in the directory by completing a questionnaire developed to capture information researchers consider important when selecting a manufacturing partner. Responses are used to populate each organization’s profile. Through the CDMO Directory, the ISSCR is providing researchers moving toward clinical translation with a practical resource for exploring manufacturing capabilities and beginning conversations with potential partners.
ISSCR members will be able to search and filter the directory based on capability criteria and review detailed profiles of organizations that match their needs. Each profile is built directly from information provided by the participating CDMO and includes contact information, giving researchers a starting point for direct conversations with potential manufacturing partners.
A companion guidance document on how to approach selecting a CDMO is in development to complement the directory and to help researchers consider the information provided and determine which organizations may warrant further discussion.
The directory is an informational, rather than evaluative, resource. Listings are self-reported and non-exhaustive, and the ISSCR does not rank, score, verify, assess, or endorse the information provided. Inclusion in the directory does not constitute an ISSCR recommendation, and the directory is not a paid placement or advertising channel.
Member privacy is also maintained. The ISSCR will not share information identifying which members have viewed the directory or a particular organization’s profile. ISSCR members interested in learning more about a CDMO found through the directory can contact the organization directly using the information included in its profile.
