The ISSCR Opens 2027 Membership, Introduces $1 Student Membership for Low- and Middle-Income Countries
Join now and receive immediate access to ISSCR member benefits through the end of 2027
The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) has opened membership for 2027, with a major new initiative designed to expand access to the global stem cell community. Student membership is now just $1 USD for students studying in low- and middle-income countries, as defined by the World Bank.
The new membership rate reflects the ISSCR’s commitment to supporting the future of stem cell science by making it easier for students around the world to connect with the research, people, and opportunities that can help shape their scientific careers. Through the ISSCR, students can learn from leaders across the field, showcase their own research, build relationships with scientists from around the world, and become part of the global community as they continue their education and pursue careers in stem cell science and regenerative medicine.
Individuals who join or renew now for 2027 begin enjoying the benefits immediately, providing access for the remainder of 2026 and throughout 2027.
More Science. More Connections. More Opportunity.
ISSCR membership connects researchers at every career stage with a global community advancing stem cell science and regenerative medicine. Membership also represents something larger, alignment with the world’s leading global society dedicated to stem cell research and its translation to medicine. Members have access to:
100+ scientific talks available on demand, bringing some of the best stem cell science from ISSCR meetings and events directly to members year-round.
Special member pricing for the ISSCR Annual Meeting, international symposia, and other scientific meetings and events.
Reduced publishing fees for Stem Cell Reports, the official journal of the ISSCR.
Opportunities to share and showcase research, including through abstracts, posters, presentations, and other scientific programs.
Connections across the global stem cell community, creating opportunities for students and researchers to meet peers, mentors, collaborators, and leaders from academia, industry, medicine, and other sectors.
Opportunities to engage with the field through ISSCR programs, initiatives, committees, awards, and other activities.
For students in particular, membership provides an entry point into a scientific community that extends well beyond their own institution or country. By reducing student membership to $1 in low- and middle-income countries, the ISSCR is investing in broader access to the knowledge, connections, and opportunities that can help develop the next generation of stem cell scientists.
The ISSCR brings the international stem cell community together to develop and advance guidelines, standards, and best practices; promote rigorous and responsible science; support the translation of research to medicine; inform public and regulatory policy; and create opportunities for scientific exchange and collaboration. Membership supports this work and strengthens a global community working together to advance the field.
