Who We Are

Founded in 2002, the ISSCR is the leading professional organization of stem cell scientists, representing more than 4,000 members across 67 countries, each of who makes a personal commitment to upholding the society’s guidelines for responsible and ethical practice. We are scientists, clinicians, business leaders, ethicists, and educators dedicated to the responsible advancement of stem cell research and its translation to the clinic. We are a single voice for a whole world of discovery.

What We Do

The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) is the largest society in the world dedicated to the advancement of responsible stem cell research - a field that strives to advance scientific understanding, treatments, and cures that better human health. We foster junior scientists, give voice and visibility to scientific advancement, and encourage a positive global environment for future discovery and treatment. Our promise is to help the field of stem cell research reach its potential.
