Organizer Description:
Over the past several years, gene therapies and cell-based immunotherapies have become a reality, with several products approved by global regulatory agencies and hundreds of clinical trials ongoing. Gene-editing approaches leveraging programmable nucleases and advances in the use of adeno-associated virus as a delivery vector for gene therapy have invigorated work in this area. Likewise, innovations in the biomanufacturing of cell-based products and the use of stem cells for studying and developing treatments for age-related disease have stimulated tremendous clinical progress in regenerative medicine. This meeting will bring together academic and industry scientists and clinicians working on developing and implementing gene therapy and cell-based therapy for a wide variety of conditions.
Themes include:
Cell replacement therapy
Gene therapy
Therapeutic screening
Aging and rejuvenation
Emerging immune approaches
