Message from the President

[UPDATE]
We feel it is important to share a response to our earlier post from our friends and colleagues at the Israel Stem Cell Society (ISCS). Our thoughts, prayers, and support are with you.

Dear Colleagues,

I have watched the Israel-Hamas war escalate this week with profound sadness and deep concern for those in our community impacted by the violence, devastation, and loss of life. This is an unjust and deeply troubling event on top of many recent attacks against innocent lives around the world. We stand in solidarity with our colleagues and their families; we condemn these acts of terror.

As scientists who strive to preserve and better human life, such violence is unconscionable. At the same time, it is a reminder of why communities like ours are so critical: to transcend deep divides and find common ground in common good.

Our community exists to facilitate a safe place for discussion, connection, and collaboration. I encourage you to reach out to your fellow ISSCR colleagues - whether impacted by these attacks or the many other tragedies we’ve experienced this year - with a supportive hand.

Amander
