Stem Cells in Neuroscience

  • Institute of Neuroanatomy and Developmental Biolog 3 Österbergstraße Tübingen, BW, 72074 Germany (map)

Organizer Description: Taking place in the historic city of Tübingen from 25-27 February 2026, Stem Cells in Neuroscience is designed to foster a vibrant and interactive environment for researchers, particularly postdoctoral researchers and early career faculty members.

Building on the success of our previous meetings in 2022 and 2024, this conference will bring together leading international experts to discuss the latest breakthroughs in the application of stem cell research to neuroscience. We will delve into topics such as neurodegeneration (with insights on astrocytes by Julia TCW and on oligodendrocytes by Anna Williams), neurodevelopment (including Jürgen Knoblich‘s pioneering work on brain organoids), neuroglia (with Elly Hol), and neurosensory systems (with Botond Roska). A special emphasis will be placed on cutting-edge emerging technologies, including complex cellular models, omics, single-cell analyses, and CRISPR screening (presented by Martin Kampmann).

Our aim is to stimulate interdisciplinary dialogue and networking, and to provide important skills and critical thinking workshops that will empower scientists to drive therapeutic innovations in neurological disorders.
