ISSCR Launches Website to Inform Patients and the Public About Stem Cells
“The ISSCR has a long history of sharing scientifically validated information about the potential of stem cell research and clinical advances with the public,” said Amander T. Clark, ISSCR President. “Our reimagined website, AboutStemCells.org, gives us an important avenue to educate the public about the importance of our work, combat misinformation, and raise awareness for the dangers of using unproven and unapproved stem cell-based treatments.”

The ISSCR Provides Comments on FNIH’s Accelerating Medicines Partnership Cell-Based Therapy Initiative
On 25 September 2023, the ISSCR submitted comments in response to the Foundation for National Institutes of Health’s (FNIH) Request for Information on Cell-Based Therapies for use in developing an Accelerating Medicines Partnership (AMP) Cell-Based Therapy Consortium.
ISSCR Remembers Sir Ian Wilmut
The ISSCR is saddened to learn of the death of Sir Ian Wilmut, a pioneer whose work was critical to the creation of Dolly the Sheep in 1996. He was 79. In addition to being a renowned scientist, Wilmut was a member of the ISSCR Board of Directors and served as Clerk from 2009-2012.
